Spicy Tehari

Ingredients
- 2 kg beef
- 1.5 cup onions chopped
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tbsp chilli powder
- 1 tbsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1 tbsp cumin powder
- ½ tsp black pepper powder
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 cm each cinnamon sticks
- 5 cardamom pods
- 4 cloves
- 16 green chilli peppers
- 1 ¼ cup mustard oil
- 1 kg basmati rice
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Cut the beef into small pieces and wash them thoroughly.
- Cook the meat with all the powdered spices and salt until tender.
- Once the meat is cooked and the water is dried up, set it aside.
- In a large pot, heat oil and fry the onions, bay leaves, and whole spices lightly.
- Add the cooked meat and sauté until well-browned. Remove the meat from the spices and set it aside.
- Wash the rice and drain the water.
- Add the rice to the pot with the remaining spices and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
- Add 6-7 cups of hot water and salt to the pot. When it starts boiling, reduce the heat to low.
- Spread the meat evenly over the rice.
- Place green chilli peppers on top.
- Cover the pot and cook on low heat for 20 minutes. Remove from heat after 20-25 minutes and let it sit, covered, for a while.
- Serve the Spicy Tehri with salad.
