Ingredients
- 6 pcs hilsa fish
- 7 dried red chilli
- 1 tbsp turmeric powder
- 12 garlic
- cloves
- 4 tbsp mustard paste
- 4-5 tbsp vinegar
- 7 tbsp mustard oil
- salt as per taste
- ½ cup water
Instructions
- First, wash the hilsa fish pieces thoroughly and drain the water.
- Sprinkle salt on the fish pieces and let them sit for 10 minutes.
- In a blender, grind dried red chilli, turmeric powder, garlic cloves, mustard paste, salt, and vinegar to make a smooth paste.
- Heat a shallow pan and add the paste to it.
- Add half a cup of water to the blender jar and rinse it to collect the remaining paste. Pour this water into the pan as well.
- Now, add mustard oil to the pan and mix all the ingredients well using your hand.
- Place the fish pieces in between the paste and coat them evenly.
- Turn the fish pieces upside down and arrange them in the pan.
- Cover the pan and cook over low heat for 12-15 minutes.
- After the specified time, remove from heat and serve the dish beautifully.
