  • First, wash the hilsa fish pieces thoroughly and drain the water.
  • Sprinkle salt on the fish pieces and let them sit for 10 minutes.
  • In a blender, grind dried red chilli, turmeric powder, garlic cloves, mustard paste, salt, and vinegar to make a smooth paste.
  • Heat a shallow pan and add the paste to it.
  • Add half a cup of water to the blender jar and rinse it to collect the remaining paste. Pour this water into the pan as well.
  • Now, add mustard oil to the pan and mix all the ingredients well using your hand.
  • Place the fish pieces in between the paste and coat them evenly.
  • Turn the fish pieces upside down and arrange them in the pan.
  • Cover the pan and cook over low heat for 12-15 minutes.
  • After the specified time, remove from heat and serve the dish beautifully.
