Instructions

  • Remove the outer layers of the Banana Flower until you reach the tender part. Take out the stem from each layer and discard it.
  • Wash the Banana Flower and chop it into small pieces.
  • Boil the chopped Banana Flower in water for about 10 minutes or until it becomes tender. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  • Add chopped onion, bay leaf, cardamom pods, cinnamon stick, and cloves to the pan. Sauté until the onion becomes soft and translucent.
  • Stir in garlic paste and ginger paste. Cook for a few minutes until the raw smell disappears.
  • Add a little water to the pan, followed by red chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, and coriander powder. Mix well and cook for a few minutes to allow the spices to blend.
  • Add the boiled Banana Flower to the pan and mix it with the spices. Cook until the Banana Flower becomes soft and the oil starts to separate.
  • Finally, add slit green chillies and garam masala powder. Sauté for a few more minutes to enhance the flavors.
  • Remove from heat and serve the Banana Flower Stir Fry with rice. Enjoy its delicious taste!
