First, wash the hilsa fish pieces thoroughly and drain the water.
Sprinkle salt on the fish pieces and let them sit for 10 minutes.
In a blender, grind dried red chilli, turmeric powder, garlic cloves, mustard paste, salt, and vinegar to make a smooth paste.
Heat a shallow pan and add the paste to it.
Add half a cup of water to the blender jar and rinse it to collect the remaining paste. Pour this water into the pan as well.
Now, add mustard oil to the pan and mix all the ingredients well using your hand.
Place the fish pieces in between the paste and coat them evenly.
Turn the fish pieces upside down and arrange them in the pan.
Cover the pan and cook over low heat for 12-15 minutes.
After the specified time, remove from heat and serve the dish beautifully.
